ORANGE TEA HOT TODDIE

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 (3-inch) piece fresh ginger, peeled and thinly sliced

  • 1 lemon, cut into 8 wedges

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 1/8 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper

  • 3 regular-size orange pekoe tea bags

  • 1/2 cup bourbon

PREPARATION

  1. Bring first 4 ingredients and 1 qt. water to a boil in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Remove pan from heat.

  2. Add tea bags; steep 10 minutes.

  3. Remove and discard solids, using a slotted spoon. Whisk in bourbon, and serve hot or warm.
